I think the stupid Tea Party had it right. They picked out one of the parties and undermined it from within. Of course, they are astroturf, not grassroots. But it only took them ten years and one orange-haired pseudo-populist to transform the GOP. It almost happened for us with Bernie in 2016 but the ding-dang Superdelegates... The Tea Party had/has local and state candidates to back up Mr Golf Courses-and-Treason, and the Socialists/Progressives did/do not. Yet.

In Milwaukee, German Socialists ran the city for decades back in the day. Those folks called themselves "sewer socialists" because they actually got things done. I think we need sewer socialists in every town.
