I went to Honduras to visit friends for the first two weeks of January this year. My partner had told me to expect to quarantine for a week in a separate part of our house when I got back. I was ready for that. What I wasn’t ready for is for COVID to crash the party two days into my quarantine. Yuck. I’m triple vaxxed, so I assume that I must have had the “mild” version, but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. The worst sore throat I have ever had! Feeling like I had been hit by a truck. Cough. Cough. Cough. I’m feeling a little better now, thank you.

I had planned to catch up on writing during my quarantine. I also have a stack of books lined up that have been waiting all year for me to have winter free time with no farm responsibilities. COVID threw those plans out the window. The best I could do was Netflix.

To live in a world of peace and justice we must imagine it first. For this, we need artists and writers. I write to reach for the edges of what is possible.
