I think we are in agreement. fear and paranoia are not useful here and certainly othering whole groups of people based on their choice of vehicle is not helpful. My essay was attempting to catch myself doing the thing I tell people not to do. And also questioning whether things really have changed and become more dangerous. IN either case, paranoia is counterindicated.
