Thank you for this observation. I certainly grew up in the age of letters, too. My dad and his siblings had a "round robin" letter that each one would add a new letter and take out their old one when it came to them. I didn't have email until I was a grown adult and used it for work. So perhaps I think in letter form? I wonder how today's young people might tell the same stories.
