Our community has an annual "skill share" where people come together and give each other lessons in a skill they are capable in. I have led lessons in how to turn soybeans that I grew into tofu and how to use dry corn that I grew to make tortillas. The sky is the limit for other folks' skill shares. COVID canceled our events, but we will be back at it next spring.

In terms of protein. I think building skills at raising chickens and gardening will be key. A small plot of black beans can yield a lot of protein.
