In many ways I agree with you. Numerically in the United States there are already many places where white people are a minority. In Latin America it isn't whiteness so much that confers advantage as it is the historic wealth accumulation that goes with whiteness. Of course, the two are tied together, because someone who is white is treated as if they have wealth and power and deferred to. I acknowledge that the situation is different in the USA, and frankly, each Latin American country also has a unique relationship to race and whiteness.
In general I think your point is that the wealthy white people will continue to exist and thrive, even as middle class and working class whites struggle, and I agree. This is why middle and working class whites should reject the whole race game, and throw our lot in with other working people, regardless of race.
When I think about it, I don’t contest that white people will be or already are the minority in some places, rather I think that given what I have seen in Latin America, there won’t be negative consequences for white people when that happens. Thanks for reading and responding.
