The Mormons have a free site called familysearch and many of the same documents are available on both sites.

The connection to Mormons has always bothered me a little because they are using family tree research for the ulterior motive of post-baptizing ancestors so they can be Mormon-saved. I think that is what it is. I don't really know why they care so much about records.
