I think I may have projected more good intent onto Robert Quinn than you saw or likely than James intended. Lilith wanted to protect him but that might be more Stockholm syndrome than anything like love.

It likely says more about me than the book itself that I wanted to see Quinn as a conflicted but sympathetic character caught in the middle of a horrific system. What are the ways that I endorse and participate in oppression even as I see myself as working towards liberation?
