I suppose Tim Wise mostly plays one note. I think that doesn’t make him wrong - but I know when I open a Tim Wise essay that that is what he will be saying. I think he has his reasons - probably feels like somebody needs to be saying those things. The right has Tucker and others who are shouting their narrative and the left doesn’t have the same level of volume.
I like Woods’ book because he uses personal history to examine how whiteness has functioned in his life. He is an engaging storyteller too. I probably should have reviewed Wise’s memoir instead.
