The end of the gardening season

I love when the whole cake of snow slides partway off the metal roof and curls under. It is like a wave on the ocean.

This week was like a victory lap for the garden season. On Saturday we hosted our annual potluck that features food native to this hemisphere. We call it the Festivál de Maíz / Corn Fest. We grow corn, beans, squash, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and other crops indigenous to the Americas, and we invite people to bring foods important to their families. We had a fabulous meal and…
