Hundred percent chance of a white Christmas this year
It started snowing just over a week ago and it has snowed on and off almost every day since then. Yesterday it got cold and the wind has picked up. Just now, I was outside and it was 10 below zero, and I’m guessing with the windchill it would be 20–30 below. Cold! The chickens are locked in the coop to stay warm and the barn door is closed for the sheep to keep the wind out.
In writing news, I forgot to tag my last week’s Farm Friday post. As of today, it has exactly 2 views. So maybe tagging makes a difference? When you are done reading this post, head over there and give it some love, please.
In more writing news, I published my monthly genealogy story about becoming an accidental genealogy tourist in New Orleans and a Climate Minute about the importance of calling it a climate crisis and not global warming.
And in even MORE writing news, I published a draft of a story I intend to submit to Vocal Media for their dystopian window contest. I am looking for honest feedback, so please have a look and tear me to shreds.
And in even MOOOORE writing news, I am working on my Readers and Writers Book Club essay for December. Derrick Bell’s Faces at the Bottom of the Well is a provocative read. YOU can join our book club. Just read and respond to any of the books we have chosen so far and tag your essay #RaWBC. December essays should be dropped no earlier than December 28th.
