I hate climate change

We have beautiful precipitation that should be snow but instead we got rain. It is mid-December and the lakes should be frozen and there should be snow on the ground but nothing.

Obviously, there are bigger climate impacts than me missing snow, but I miss it anyway.

This week was more work with students on crafts and foods for them to sell as well as a lot of sorting of beans and grinding cornmeal. Today I bottled up some maple syrup for sale, too.

I have been sourcing holiday gifts locally this year (again): pottery, alpaca socks, goat milk soap, and local beer. I plan to make some too- maybe a cutting board or a carved wooden spoon.

In writing news, I’ve been working on my January genealogy essay and it is about the #endoftheworld, so I am putting off publishing for obvious reasons. Also, reading the Wheel of Time series has taken up most of my writing time lately. I should be done soon, though. There are only 15 books in the series.

Coarse garlic salt I made with our garlic. Maybe everyone is getting garlic salt for Christmas this year?
Swedish brown beans ready for sale
Popcorn needs to dry after it is picked in order to pop. We hang it up in the greenhouse to keep it from the mice.

Mouse tracks by the greenhouse.
Another cat has been coming around. Sorry. We are full of cats in this house.
Little bird tracks
Snow!
Franni. Posing.

To live in a world of peace and justice we must imagine it first. For this, we need artists and writers. I write to reach for the edges of what is possible.
