All cat photos and some personal news

Little Bear (tabby/forest cat) and Franni (calico) both found us in October of 2023. They are a daily delight. When my students need a little light connection, I break out my phone and show them photos of our cats. I have literally hundreds of photos and I never have to scroll back to find one.

Now that you have been overloaded with cuteness, I offer a little life update. Exactly a month ago, we got the news that my spouse's routine colonoscopy found a tumor. Our lives have been turned upside down. Today I sit in the hospital as she recovers from yesterday’s surgery. The surgeon was pleased with how it went but cautioned us that we need to wait for pathology from the biopsy to tell us the whole picture.

I consider many of you readers and commenters as friends, and I wanted to let my friends know that all is well and I appreciate our connection.

To live in a world of peace and justice we must imagine it first. For this, we need artists and writers. I write to reach for the edges of what is possible.
