By making Jewish people untouchable, they injected fear into every interaction between non-Jewish people. The worse things got for Jewish people the more easily everyone else was controlled by fear. The fear was that helping Jewish people or proximity could mean that bad things could happen to them. It created a culture of surveillance overnight.

Perhaps the same culture of surveillance functions among white folks, especially the most conservative ones. This is why they are so focused on policing LGBTQ+ folks and masculinity because the threat is so great. The worse the consequences get for the untouchables and the subordinate castes, the greater the fear level and self-surveillance in the Conservative white populace, and the easier they are to control and manipulate. This is why we need the caste system to have such horrific consequences - in order to keep EVERYONE in line.
